For more than twenty years, our community lived through the relentless pace of the Global War on Terror. While the world saw the missions overseas, few understood the reality happening quietly at home.

Our warriors deployed again and again—often gone more than 200 days a year—answering the nation’s call without hesitation. Behind every deployment was a family learning to carry the weight of absence. Birthdays were missed. Holidays passed with empty seats at the table. Children grew up through long stretches with one parent holding everything together.

The operational tempo never slowed, and the cost of that life did not disappear when the deployments ended. Many in our community now live with the invisible wounds of those years—PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, depression, and other lasting challenges that continue long after the war faded from the headlines.

But our story is not only one of hardship. It is also one of resilience.

We survived—and in many ways thrived—during a time that was anything but normal. The bonds formed through those years of sacrifice remain powerful because they were forged through shared struggle, loyalty, and an unbreakable sense of brotherhood.

Today, many outstanding organizations provide critical clinical support for trauma and recovery. Their work is essential, and we deeply value it. Our mission complements that work by focusing on another vital part of healing—the restoration of joy, connection, and purpose.

At Untold Journey Foundation, we create opportunities for veterans and their families to reconnect through shared adventure, meaningful experiences, and the camaraderie that once sustained them during war.
